Bryant University Wins
Season Opener in Thrilling Fashion

RI - The Bryant University women's
basketball team opened their season on the road visiting Queens
College in New York on Tuesday. The Bulldogs would go on to defeat
Queens 67-66.
Queens would hold a nine point lead going into the half as they
shot 57% from beyond the arc and made 10 of 13 free throws. Jill
Henn and Erin White each had 16 points to lead the Lady Knights
offense while Danielle Castelli posted a double- double (12 points,
13 rebounds) in her Queens College debut.
Bryant University used a 7-0 run late in the game to rally for a
67-66 win over Queens in their 2005-06 season opener in Flushing. A
Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT) basket with
1:35 left in the game gave Bryant the lead at 64-63 and they never
relinquished it. QC had led 53-43 with just over eight minutes left
in the second half. Rubenoff finished the game
with a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing a career high
13 rebounds.
The Bulldogs were led by freshman Alyssa Michella
(Washington, NJ) who scored 15 points which all came on
three-pointers in her debut for Bryant University. Senior
Megan Peper (Castleton, NY) also poured in double
figures on 6-10 shooting good for 12 points. Junior Joanna
Skiba (Providence, RI) helped the Bulldogs get their
buckets by dishing out a career high 10 assists.
Bryant University opens their Northeast-10 Conference schedule on
Tuesday November 22, when they will visit American International.
