Bryant Women's Basketball Falls to Saint Rose
71-51
ALBANY, NY - The Bryant
University women's basketball team dropped its second straight game
NE-10 game Sunday, falling to the College of Saint Rose,
71-51 in Albany to drop to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the
Northeast-10. The Golden Knights improve to 4-1 overall and
2-0 in the Northeast-10.
After Bryant junior Joanna Skiba made the first
bucket of the game, Saint Rose would counter with a 9-0 run and
take an early 9-3 lead four minutes into the game. The Golden
Knights would finish the first half scoring 13 points in the last
three minutes while holding the Bulldogs scoreless during that
stretch. Saint Rose shot the lights out with a 50% field goal
percentage (13-26), 8-10 from the line and 4-10 from beyond the arc
and took a 17 point lead into the locker room.
Saint Rose continued it's hot shooting in the second, opening the
half with a 13-0 run to extend the string of unanswered points
to 26, giving the hosts a comfortable 30 point
lead. They would not relinquish the lead and would go on to
win 71-51.
Courtney
Ludwig was the top scorer for the Golden Knights with 17 points,
including 3 three-pointers. Lynne-Ann
Kokoski led all scorers with 18 points including 7-8 from
the charity stripe. Freshman Alyssa Michella added
eight points off the bench for Bryant.
