SMITHFIELD, RI -  The Bryant University Department of Athletics & Recreation has announced that sophomore forward John Fogarty (Smithfield, RI) has left the men's basketball team to concentrate on academics at the university.  The announcement was made today by coach Max Good and Interim Athletic Director John Ruppert.

"John Fogarty is a tremendous young man with an extremely bright future ahead of him academically," said Good.  "He was a pleasure to coach and I have left the door open for him to return to the team if he so desires."

Fogarty, who is concentrating in finance and is the recipient of the Smithfield Academic Scholarship, played in all five games for the Bulldogs this season, averaging 5.4 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per contest.
