SMITHFIELD, RI -- The Bryant University softball team completed a doubleheader sweep of visiting Franklin Pierce Thursday afternoon as the

Bulldogs earned a 9-0 win in the opener and followed with a 7-4 decision in the nightcap. Bryant improves to 6-6 overall and 4-0 in the Northeast-10 while Franklin Pierce drops to 2-12, 0-2 in the NE-10.
In the opener, Deidre Kittredge went 2-for-3 including a two-run home run in the bottom of the first as the Bulldogs rolled 9-0. Diane Cummings went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Amanda Gagne had a pair of hits and drove in four runs. Bryant had 13 hits in the game as Janine Enos picked up the win on the mound, throwing a three-hitter through four innings.
In the second game, Kittredge continued to swing the hot bat, going 3-for-4 and drove in three runs while teammate Briana Durburow went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Bryant will host AIC (12 pm) on Saturday and Adelphi (12 pm) Sunday - - weather pending.
