LOWELL, MASS. – The Bryant University softball team split
a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader with UMass Lowell winning
game one 8-1 and losing game two 4-1.
With the win Bryant's record stands at 21-13 overall and 18-4
in Northeast-10 play while Lowell record goes to 18-9 and 15-5 in
conference.
In game one Bryant and Lowell would go into the sixth with the
Bulldogs leading 2-1. In the sixth Bryant would score six runs to
cement the win. The inning started with Amanda
Wilbur hitting a two run homerun that scored
Jordan Dargon who walked to leadoff the inning.
The Bulldogs would get three more runs when Amanda
Gagne doubled to cente making it 7-1 Bryant.
Janine Enos got the win for Bryant going seven
innings, allowing one run, one six hits, and striking out four.
Tabitha Hebert took the loss for Lowell allowing eight runs on ten
hits.
In game two Bryant would score it's only run in the first
when Dargon singled to center scoring Lindsay
Connor. Lowell would score in the bottom of the second
Hebert it an RBI triple to give the Riverhawks a 2-1 lead.
The Riverhawks would add to insurance runs in the third to get
the win. Nikki Ingalls took the loss for Bryant
going 2 1/3 innings allowing four runs, on three hits, and striking
out two. Kristen Mahoney got the win for Lowell.
Bryant will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Saint
Michael's for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12:00PM.
