BRYANT MEN PICK UP FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON DEFEATING
POST UNIVERSITY 72-60 IN THE SECOND DAY ACTION AT BRIDGEPORT

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bryant men's basketball team bounced
back strong from Saturday's season opening loss to Bridgeport with
a solid 72-60 win over Post University (CT) in second day action of
the University of Bridgeport Purple Knight Classic here at Hubbell
Gym.
The Bulldogs got a game-high 19 points from sophomore guard
Chris Birrell of Scituate, RI and 15 points apiece from sophomore
Cecil Gresham and freshman Barry Latham. Birrell, a transfer
from CCRI, finished the game shooting 5 of 9 from the floor and
made 8 of 9 free throw attempts. He would also add seven
rebounds and dished out seven assists in 38 minutes.
Ahead 37-24 at the half, Bryant (1-1) shot 55 percent from the
floor in the second half, putting the game away with solid free
throw shooting at the line, making 10 of 15 free throws in the
final 20 minutes.
Senior Jon Ezeokoli had 11 points and grabbed five rebounds as
four Bulldogs reached double figures in the game. Post (1-2)
was led by A.J. Reitter's 15 points.
Bryant will open Northeast-10 Conference play Tuesday night
traveling to Saint Anselm for a 7:30 p.m. game in Manchester, NH.
