BRYANT UPDATE
THE
GAME
The Bryant women's basketball team hosts Post University of the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
in the Chace Athletic Center. This is the first time in program
history that the Eagles and the Bulldogs have faced off, and it is
Bryant's second of four consecutive non-conference matchups
spanning from yesterday's win over the University of Bridgeport
through the Bryant Holiday Classic, Dec. 28 and 29.
TOUGH
TURNAROUND
Today's game is the second in as many days after this weekend's
bout with Bridgeport, postponed from Sunday afternoon, was made up
yesterday at the Chace Center. Bryant posted a 67-57 victory behind
a triple-double (13 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) from senior
captain Lynne-Ann Kokoski, but the Bulldogs will need to recover
quickly for Round 2 tonight.
TOP-25
TERRORS
The Bulldogs took down their second Top-25 opponent of the season
at home on Dec. 12, with a 59-53 win over then-No. 15 Stonehill.
Bryant also topped then-No. 21 Bentley, 56-55, at home on Dec. 4.
For their efforts, the Bulldogs were rewarded with one foot on the
national stage, getting four points in the Others Receiving Votes
category.
LAST TIME
OUT
Led by Kokoski's triple-double, the Bulldogs topped the University
of Bridgeport, 67-57, in last night's non-conference makeup match
at the Chace Athletic Center.
UP
NEXT
Following today's game against Post University, the Bulldogs have a
week off before returning to Smithfield to host the Bryant Holiday
Classic, Dec. 28 and 29. Bryant will face off against the New York
Institute of Technology (Friday at 1 p.m.) and Caldwell College
(Saturday at 3 p.m.) at the Chace Athletic Center. Northeast-10
member Saint Anselm will also participate in the tournament but
will not face the Bulldogs.

NOTABLES
* Bryant is 4-1 at home this season with wins over UMass Lowell,
then-No. 21 Bentley, then-No. 15 Stonehill and Bridgeport. The
Bulldogs are 2-0 against non-conference teams in 2007-08, opening
the season with a 68-63 road win over Adelphi University and
getting a 67-57 victory last night at home. Last year, the Bulldogs
were 12-3 inside the friendly confines of the Chace Athletic
Center.
* Senior captain Lynne-Ann Kokoski sits at No. 4 in all-time
assists for Bryant women's basketball with 225 dishes and No. 8 in
steals with 109. She dished out 11 helpers last night against
Bridgeport, tying an all-time Bryant record for assists in a single
game.
* In just her second season as a Bulldog, Kelsey O'Keefe has
already cracked the top-10 in career field goals made (10th/196),
3-pointers made (T-7th/37), 3-pointers attempted (T-5th/145) and
blocked shots (T-7th/25), and her current numbers rank her in the
top-10 in scoring average (2nd/14.0 ppg), field goal percentage
(2nd/.458) and rebounding average (3rd/6.9). O'Keefe also owns the
No. 1 spot for points in a single game (33) and field goals made
(13), both against Adelphi, Nov. 15.
* Sophomore Adrianne Mayshar's 20 blocked shots rank her right
behind O'Keefe at ninth all-time for the Bulldogs, while rookie
Siamone Bennett's four blocks against Stonehill tie her in the No.
1-slot for blocks in a single game.
* Three teams currently represent the NE-10 in the national
polls: No. 10 Southern Connecticut, No. 16 Stonehill College
and No. 25 Franklin Pierce. Joining Bryant in the Others Recieving
Votes category is Assumption College (12).
