BRYANT FALLS IN FRIDAY NIGHT BOUT,
7-1, TO TOWSON

TOWSON, Md. - The Bryant University field hockey team kept it
close in the early goings, but despite a goal from junior
Danielle Moody (Gorham, Maine), the Bulldogs fell
to Towson University, 7-1, on the road Friday afternoon.
Moody's goal came in the 51st minute for the Bulldogs to make
the score 5-1, but Bryant couldn't overcome an early hat trick from
Christina Boarman to start the game. Kristy Blumer would score two
more before Moody's goal and Danielle Wacker added a pair of her
own for the 7-1 final.
The Bulldogs (1-15) kept it close in the first half, entering
halftime with just a 2-0 deficit.
Junior goalkeeper Kundayi Mawema (Harare,
Zimbabwe) made seven saves on the evening while freshman
Jennifer Gullotti (Waltham, Mass.) collected six.
Towson keeper Whitney Clugston had one stop on the day.
The Bulldogs next take the field this Sunday, October 26 at 11
a.m., when they host Rutgers at Providence College in their second
to last game of the season.
