HAMDEN, Conn. – Sophomore Adrienne Boss (Dracut, Mass.)
served up a stellar performance Wednesday night against future
Northeast Conference rival Quinnipiac University, collecting 16
kills to lead the Bryant University volleyball team to a 3-1 road
win.
The Bulldogs (13-9) needed extra points to take wins in the first
and second games, topping Quinnipiac, 26-24 and 28-26,
respectively. The Bobcats (3-20) came back in the third set, taking
a 25-22 victory, but they wouldn't be able to harness the
Bryant offense – a force which dominated the fourth set,
25-15, with a .533 hitting percentage.
Two other Bulldogs, freshmen Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) and
Hilary Andrews (Tipp City, Ohio), recorded double-digit kills on
the night, earning 14 and 10, respectively.
Senior co-captain Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) had a
standout match of her own, grabbing 33 digs in the four-game
victory, while sophomore Miranda Kolb (Holt, Mich.) took 46 assists
and eight kills away on the day.
The Bulldogs' next match comes from competition across the
country, as they travel to Seattle, Wash. to compete against the
University of North Dakota, University of South Dakota and host
Seattle University, Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12 in the
Seattle Tournament.
