NEW HAVEN DEFEATS BRYANT 16-12 IN NON-CONFERENCE WOMEN'S LACROSSE MONDAY

BOX SCORE

WEST HAVEN, CT  -   Allison Faiola (Billerica, MA) scored six goals but it was not enough as the Bryant University women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-12 non-conference decision at the University of New Haven Monday afternoon.  The drops the Bulldogs to 8-5 overall on the season while New Haven improves to 11-2.

The Bulldogs fell behind early as the Chargers jumped out quickly to a 5-0 lead.  Three Brigid Brady goals during a six-minute span help key the early run by the hosts.  Bryant would answer as Faiola got the Bulldogs on the board with an unassisted goal 21 with 21 minutes left.

But Brady and came right back with her fourth goal of the game starting another 4-0 run and soon the New Haven lead back up to 9-1.

Bryant would close out the half with goals by Faiola and senior Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) to make it 9-3 at the break.

In the second half, the Bulldogs were able to close to within 13-8 thanks to goals from Hansen and Eliza Demarseilles (Branford, CT).  But three consecutive strikes by the Chargers had the lead back up to 16-8 with five minutes left as Bryant's late rally of four goals to close out the match came up just short.

Hansen finished the game with three goals while Jessica Bolton (Belgrade Lakes, Maine) made eight saves in net.

Bryant will host Southern New Hampshire this Saturday at 12 noon for Senior Day. The Bulldogs will honor seniors Hansen and Lindsey Cann (Danvers, MA) prior to the start of the game.
