FERRIGNO'S SIXTH PLACE FINISH HIGHLIGHTS DAY 2 OF ECAC
CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR BULLDOGS; MEN JUMP TO 14TH, WOMEN 20TH

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Senior Tom Ferrigno (West Chester,
Pa.) swam a 4:03.11 to finish sixth in the 400 individual
medley and help the Bryant men's swim team move up to
14th overall with 53 points at the 2009 ECAC
Championships. The women grabbed four more points yesterday,
bringing their two-day total to eight and putting them in
20th overall.
Ferrigno's finish contributed 13 points to the Bryant cause, as
they picked up 37 total points for the day. Ferrigno was also part
of the of the 800 freestyle relay team, along with Steve
Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.), Zach Bowen
(Linchefield, N.H.) and Kevin McDonald (North
Haven, Conn.) that came in ninth place with a time of
7:01.64, taking home 18 more points. The 200 medley relay team of
Bowen, McDonald, Sean Martell (Nashua, N.H.) and
Ray Savner (Bethlehem, Conn.) placed
14th, finishing in 1:38.42.
The women had their 200 medley relay team of Jill
Squillante (Sayville, N.Y.), Lisa Zanchi (North
Reading, Mass.), Abby Whittaker (Salisbury,
Mass.) and Amy D'Olympia (Mattapoisett,
Mass.) place as well, coming in 15th to take
four points with a time of 1:56.49. The women stand 20th
out of 24 Division I teams, while the men are 14th of
23.
Both teams will finish competition on Sunday at the Harvard
University pool, concluding the first Division I season for Bryant.
