WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO WAGNER 11-8 FRIDAY
BOXSCORE
STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Bryant University women's lacrosse team
fell to 0-4 on the season following a tough 11-8 loss at Wagner
College Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs will look for their first
win of the season next Thursday when they visit Howard University.
Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) paced the
Bryant attack with three goals and an assist on the
afternoon. The Bulldogs trailed 3-0 before Lauren
Albert (South Windsor, CT) netted the first of her two
goals on the afternoon on a free position shot at 13:59.
Albert's goal kick-started a three-goal spurt by Bryant as
Glover and Eliza Demarseilles (Branford, CT)
followed with goals to knot the game up at 3-3.
Jessica Richmond put Wagner back on top by a goal with just over
five minutes remaining in the half but Glover scored with 2:47 on
the clock and freshman Mary Green (Merrick, NY)
gave Bryant its first lead of the game with an unassisted goal just
seven seconds before the break.
Leading 5-4 at the half, Bryant would open the half strong,
scoring three goals to take a commanding 8-4 lead with 18 minutes
left.
But Wagner (1-3), behind three goals from Carolyn Clark and two
from Melanie Garces and Cara Gonzalez, closed out the game by
scoring seven-straight goals to rally for the win. Clark's
game-winner broke an 8-8 tie with 5:35 remaining while Gonzalez
gave the Seahawks a two-goal lead at 10-8 with 3:46 left and Garces
iced it with a goal in the final seconds.
