BRYANT ROLLED BY NO. 19
ALBANY, 3-0, ON ROAD FRIDAY
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Corrine McConville scored twice and
fired 10 shots for the University at Albany, leading the
19th-ranked Great Danes to a 3-0 win over the Bryant University
field hockey team Friday afternoon in Albany, N.Y.
Bryant (0-8) junior goalie Jennifer Gullotti
(Waltham, Mass.) did all she could to keep Albany (6-2)
out of the net, making eight stops while facing 27 shots (11 on
goal) in the outing. The Bulldogs were outshot, 27-2, on the
day.
Both of McConville's tallies came in the first frame, as the
Bulldogs took a 2-0 deficit into the halftime break. Out of the
intermission, Christina Patrick chipped in the third and final
score of the day, gathering a loose ball in front of the cage and
putting it home for the 3-0 final.
Senior Elise Boissoneau
(Ashburnham, Mass.) and rookie Olivia Jankins (West
Brookfield, Mass.) recorded the only shots of the contest
for the Bulldogs, who were awarded just a single penalty corner to
Albany's 13.
The Bulldogs must now turnaround and play another tough opponent
without a day of rest, returning to action Saturday, Sept. 25 when
they face off against Colgate on the road (3 p.m.).
