BRYANT MEN'S TENNIS FINISHES PLAY AT UCONN INVITATIONAL
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Nicholai Hill
(Ottawa, Ontario) and freshman Dana Parziale
(Pinehurst, N.C.) each advanced to the semifinals of their
respective singles flights as the Bryant University men's tennis
team wrapped up play at the UConn Invitational over the weekend.
After picking up wins over Quinnipiac and Hartford, Hill dropped
to Bucknell, 7-5, 6-4, in flight C of the singles bracket. Parziale
also bowed out to Bucknell, 5-7, 6-1, 10-8, in flight B following
victories over UConn and Hartford. Juan-Martin
Paredes (Quito, Ecuador) won his opening matchup over
Boston University, 6-3, 6-3, but fell in the quarterfinals of
flight A in a hard-fought match to Bucknell, 6-3, 3-6,
10-8.
In doubles action, the Bulldogs had two tandems reach the
semifinal stage of each flight. Connor Crowley
(London, Ontario) and Parziale went 2-1 on the weekend,
picking up wins over Quinnipiac and UConn before falling to
Bucknell, 8-4, in flight B. The duo of Hart Callahan
(Haverford, Pa.) and Hill also claimed two victories with
wins over Boston University and Hartford before dropping to UConn,
8-3, in flight A.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 when they
travel to take on St. Francis (NY).
