BULLDOGS CLAIM TWO RELAY VICTORIES, IN SECOND AT HAROLD ANDERSON
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Behind a first-place finish from graduate student Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) and victories in the 200 free relay and the 400 medley relay, the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team is second after day one at the Harold Anderson Invitational.
The Bulldogs accumulated 251 points on day one and trail Providence College (267) by 16 points heading into the final day of competition. The University of Maine is in third, Holy Cross is fourth and Rhode Island is in fifth after day one.
Kosenski claimed the Black and Gold's only individual first on the evening, winning the 50 free with a time of 22.11, six one-hundredths quicker than Mickey Luiz from PC. Bryant also received strong individual performances from Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.), Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.) and John Lawson (Bernardsville, N.J.). Beck finished sixth in the 500 with a time of 4:59.91, Karadimas was fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.43 and Lawson was fourth in the 50 free with a time of 22.69.
Those four individuals were also key members of Bryant's two first-place relay teams. Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn.) joined Beck, Lawson and Kosenski to earn the Bulldogs a victory in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:34.77. Then, Karadimas, Kosenski and Lawson teamed with Michael Doran (Westborough, Mass.) to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:28.56.
