Pool records fall Sunday against NJIT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) and freshman Ben Schulte (Mermaid Beach, Australia) each set pool records but the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to New Jersey Institute of Technology, 137-125, on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs saw their win streak snapped at two with the loss to the Highlanders.

Beck won both breast events, setting a pool record in the 200. He won the 100 breast with a time of 59.02 and then set a pool record with a time of 2:10.90 in the 200. Schulte continued his strong rookie campaign with a pool record in the 200 IM. He won the event with a time of 1:56.26, nearly two seconds better than the previous mark. Schulte also won the 200 free (1:45.25) and finished second in the 500 free (4:45.53).

Top Performers

Jonathan Brodeur (Old Saybrook, Conn.) finished second in the 100 breast (1:02.84).

Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) finished second in the 200 breast (2:15.64) and in the 100 fly (53.32).

Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.) finished second in the 50 free (22.02) and the 100 free (48.70).
