Bulldogs dominant in final tuneup for MAACs

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team swept the top three spots in five different events on its way to a commanding, 233-67, victory over Holy Cross on Saturday in Worcester.

In the final dual meet of the season, the Bulldogs dominated to improve to 6-3 on the season.

The trio of Samuel Linder (Dillsburg, Pa.), Damian Parzych (Farmington, Conn.) and Brendan Miller-Radest (Chatham, N.J.) got the Black and Gold off to a fast start as they swept the top three spots in the 1000 free with times of 10:23.30, 10:24.35 and 10:30.20, respectively. Bryant also took home the top three spots in the 200 fly, 50 free, 200 back and 100 fly.

In the 200 fly, Andrew Neggia (Ramsey, N.J.), Miller-Radest and John Tudda (Wayne, N.J.) completed the sweep with times of 2:03.94, 2:09.63 and 2:09.67. Zachary Hannon (Marlborough, Conn.), Boris Paraliticci (Saunderstown, R.I.) and Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) were able to sweep the 50 free, while Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.), Benon Boyadjian (Middlebury, Conn.) and Robert Beauchemin (Holliston, Mass.) swept the 200 back. Hannon, Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) and Paraliticci swept the 100 fly.

Bryant also took home the top two spots in several other events. Curtin and Boyadjian went 1-2 in the 100 back, Ben Schulte (Mermaid Beach, Australia) and Bjornberg went 1-2 in the 100 breast, Adam Gauthier (Middletown, Conn.) and Ian Miller (Meriden, Conn.) went 1-2 in the 3 meter dive, Schulte and Jonathan Brodeur (Old Saybrook, Conn.) went 1-2 in the 200 breast and Beck and Curtin went 1-2 in the 500 free.

Other top finishes came from Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.) in the 100 free, Miller in the 1 meter dive and Neggia in the 200 IM. Bryant also won both relays as Curtin, Schulte, Bjornberg and LeGuyader teamed up to take the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:35.90. Beck, Bjornberg, Hannon and LeGuyader took home the 200 free relay with a time of 1:28.80.

In all, Schulte finished the meet with three victories and Curtin took home a pair of first-place finishes. Hannon and Neggia also won a pair of events as well.

The Bulldogs will now have two weeks to prepare for the MAAC Championships that will be held from Feb. 11-14 in Buffalo, N.Y.
