SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off her third-straight singles win, freshman Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) was named Northeast Conference and ECAC Rookie of the Week.

Campfield improved to 2-0 overall at No. 5 singles with a straight-set victory, 7-6, 6-1, over Sacred Heart's Taylor Gurda on Friday. The freshman completed the 2-0 day with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles with partner Rosie Bird (Hamilton, New Zealand) to help the Bulldogs improve to 2-1 against NEC opponents.

Campfield, who was named NEC Rookie of the Month in September, is the first Bulldog to hit the 10-win mark in singles play, improving to 10-3 overall on the year.

The Black and Gold wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they host UMass for an 11 a.m. showdown.
