Mays wins Gold at Day 2 of NECs

Carlisle, Pa. - Matthew Mays of the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team won the second individual gold medal for the Bulldogs at the Northeast Conference Championships today.

Notes and Notables

The Black and Gold started the meet the same as yesterday, with a win in the 200 medley relay. Mays, FuKang Wong, Dom Scifo, and Eric Bebel recorded a time of 1:29.54.
Asher Stukelman and Tyler Stringfellow placed second and third in the 400 IM. Stukelman posted a time of 4:04.47, and Stringfellow touched the wall at 4:05.11.
The Bulldogs added another second and third-place finish from Scifo (49.92) and Bebel (29.95) in the 100 fly.
Bryant received their third silver medal of the day in the 100 breast. Wong finished with a time of 54.57.
Mays earned the gold medal in the 100 back by posting a time of 48.17.
The Bulldogs ended the night with a third-place finish in the 800 free relay. The team of Matthew Mastroianni, Stringfellow, Stukelman, and Chase Konstantakos combined for a time of 6:56.11.
Bryant is in first-place with a two-day total of 663.
