COACH ROCHE'S COMMENTS

"LIU is a good team that executed today. Offensively, we needed to capitalize on our offensive possessions and defensively, limit their opportunities. We will learn from this and use it as motivation for our next game."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Long Island controlled the first half after Skylar Simmonds netted a free position goal. The Sharks responded by going on a 4-1 run before the end of the half, as they took a 4-2 lead. Emma Lindquist scored the second Bryant goal which was also a free position opportunity.
  • The Sharks opened the second half with a goal during the first three minutes, but the Bulldogs answered with three-straight to tie the game at five-all. Alexa Weber scored the first two of Bryant's second-half goals, followed by a goal from Devon Bolen, assisted by Shea Farrell.
  • The Sharks and the Bulldogs later traded two goals apiece during a two-minute span to bring the score back to an even draw, 7-7.
  • Weber found the stick of Caitlin Bolen for one final goal for the Bulldogs, but LIU outscored Bryant, 4-1, to close out the game.
