Men's Swim and Dive Tops Marist on Senior Day

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant men's swimming and diving squad were victorious on senior day, winning ten events en route to a 171-129 defeat of Marist. Matthew Mays won three individual events and a relay, highlighted by a new pool record in the 100 back. FuKang Wong and Leo Luna also won multiple times for the Bulldogs.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

Matthew Mays set a new pool record with a 50.58 in the 100 back. He also won the 200 back and IM, and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
The Bulldogs had a 1-2 finish in both backstroke events as Griffin Lajoie came second to Mays both times. Mays and Lajoie hold the NEC's top two times in the 200 this season.
FuKang Wong won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke and was also on the 200 medley relay team. He and Calvin Groenewold took a 1-2 finish in both breast events.
Mays, Wong, Dom Scifo, and Eric Bebel kicked off the men's meet with a 1:33.75 to win the 200 medley. The quartet holds the second best mark in the NEC this season at a 1:31.75.
Leo Luna won both distance events for the Bulldogs, taking the 100 free in 9:47.00 and the 500 in 4:45.48.
Conner Lofstrom edged out Marist's Ahmed Sallam by 0.01 seconds to win the 50 free with a time of 21.65.
Ben Prouty, Drew Arnold, and Evan Clark gave Bryant a 1-2-3 result in the one meter dive. Prouty took the top spot with a 233.93 score.
