RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Jenna Gardner, Aleix Hudson, and Megan Marcel record three RBIs in the top of the ninth inning during the Bryant University Softball team's 6-5 extra-inning victory in the second game against Manhattan.

Caroline Paolantonio picked up her first victory of the season, and Josie Gex earned the clutch save.

"Just a tremendous team effort. We swung the bat well all day, got great pitching from everyone in the circle, and we answered every punch that they threw at us. I couldn't be more proud of our kids."

• The Bulldogs scored three runs in the ninth to break the tie, and Gex got a clutch strikeout to end it with runners on base.

How it Happened (GM2)

• Courtney Paolantonio hit a leadoff double, followed by an RBI triple from Abby Trimble in the top of the fourth inning (1-0).
• The Bulldogs put two runners on courtesy of a single and fielders' choice in the top of the fifth inning. Trimble then got her second RBI of the game on a single up the middle (2-0).
• The Jaspers got within one on a wild pitch during the bottom of the fifth (2-1).
• During the bottom of the sixth inning, Manhattan tied the game on a solo home run (2-2).
• The Bulldogs began the top of the eight with an RBI single from Courtney Paolantonio to gain the lead (3-2).
• The Jaspers countered with an RBi single to send the game to the ninth inning (3-3).
• The Black and Gold responded with three consecutive runs in the top of the ninth inning on a triple and two doubles from Gardner, Hudson, and Marcel (6-3).
• Manhattan scored two in the bottom of the ninth before Josie Gex sealed the Bryant victory with a strikeout to end the game (6-5).
