Gustin records 200th hit but Bulldogs drop finale to Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. – Cavan Tully's three-run home run in the seventh proved to be the difference as Binghamton University defeated the Bryant University baseball team, 6-4, in the rubber match of their America East series.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 12-11 overall and 4-2 in league play. Bryant and Binghamton split Saturday's doubleheader, with the Bearcats taking the series thanks to Friday's 16-1 victory.

Bryant grabbed a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh on a pinch-hit home run from Jackson Phinney but Tully hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the frame.

The Bulldogs were led by Jake Gustin who collected his 200th career hit with a third-inning two-run home run. Derek Smith also added two hits.
