SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team kicked off the season with a strong victory over Fairfield, securing a final score of 152-148 at Chace Pool. This meet marked the first time the Bulldogs hosted Fairfield in over a decade, getting a hyped crowd for the meet.

Friday's meet featured a raucous environment as nearly 500 spectators took in the opening meet of the year. Bryant will host its second meet of the year on November 2.

Notes and Notables:

• Bryant opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay as Giffin Lajoie, Nick Austin, James Misto and Conner Lofstrom finished with a time of 1:34.12.
• James Misto dominated the sprints, winning the 50 free and the 100 fly.
• Leo Luna and Raymond Stelmark finished first and second in both the 1000 free and 500 free events.
• Conner Lofstrom took home a first-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 47.58.
• Christopher Buonocore took first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.
