Volleyball to face Fairfield on Wednesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team travels to Fairfield, Connecticut this Wednesday to take on the Fairfield Stags in their final non-conference matchup of the 2024 regular season. First serve is set for 6:00 pm.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

The Bulldogs will be looking to earn their first win against Fairfield at the Division I level. Bryant is currently 1-5 all-time against the Stags and are 0-4 since transitioning from Division II. (Last win: 1994, W, 3-2).
Bryant has three players in the America East Top 10 for kills. Aubrey LaPour is second in the league with 286 kills (3.40/s), Arianna Ugolini is 4th with 228 kills (3.17/s), and Fabi Castro is 10th with 139 kills (2.40/s).
The Bulldogs also have three of their players in the conference Top 10 for service aces. Arianna Ugolini leads the America East in average aces per game (0.49) and has 35 total on the year. Behind her are fellow teammates Carolina Camacho and Carrina Barron. Camacho is 6th in the league with 28 aces (0.34/s). Barron has 28 aces of her own but is 8th in average (0.33/s).
Carrina Barron continues to lead the conference in digs with 327 total on the year (3.89/s).
Brookelyn Talmadge is 6th in the America East for blocks. She is currently averaging 1.00 blocks per set and has 72 total rejections on the season.

Scouting the Stags

The Stags enter Wednesday at 11-9 on the season and are currently 9-0 in MAAC play.
Fairfield offers a well balanced offense with five of their players having over 100 kills this season. Leading the pack Mamie Krubally who enters this contest with 188 kills (2.58/s) right behind her is Allie Elliott who currently has 175 kills (2.46/s).
Maya Walker lead the team in blocks with 71 and averages just under a block a set. (4th in MAAC)
Fairfield's offense is facilitated by a pair of setters. Abby Jandro and Blakely Montgomery have combined for 750 assists so far this season. Jandro leads the duo with 405 assists (6th in MAAC) while Montgomery has 358.
The Stags are coached by Nancy Somera. She is in her second season with the team.
