Men's Swim and Dive Fall To Brown and UPenn


PROVIDENCE, RI -- The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team faced tough competition this weekend in a tri-meet against Ivy League opponents Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania. The Bulldogs were unable to secure a win, falling to both opponents in a challenging set of matchups.

The University of Pennsylvania took down Bryant with a decisive 248-46 victory. Brown University then took down UPenn, 174-126, in a tightly contested meet. The Bulldogs faced Brown in the final match of the day, but the Bears maintained their momentum, defeating Bryant 253-45. That highlighted Brown's performance, as they swept the meet 2-0.

The Bulldogs now hold a 3-3 record on the season.

Notes and Notables:
  • Nick Andrews placed seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (47.25) and ninth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.56).
  • Griffin Lajoie placed eighth in the 100-yard backstroke (51.74).
  • Leo Luna finished sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:38.01.
  • The men's A relay team in the 200-yard medley placed seventh (1:33.69).
  • The men's freestyle relay team ranked eighth (1:25.77).
