Bryant defeats VTSU-Johnson on Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Jakai Robinson posted his first collegiate double-double and three finished with 20+ points as the Bryant men's basketball team defeated VTSU-Johnson, 122-63, on Sunday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 6-5 overall on the year. Bryant will hit the road for the remainder of non-conference play, starting Wednesday with a trip to St. John's. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Robinson, making his first career start, finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a career high 28 minutes. Connor Withers led all scorers with a season high 25 points on 7-of-11 shooting from three. Rafael Pinzon added 22 points and Keyshawn Mitchell notched his first-career 20-point effort on a perfect 9-for-9 day from the field. Barry Evans also finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 boards.

  • Pinzon was on early for the Bulldogs, scoring 12 of the teams first 26 points. He helped Bryant build a 26-8 lead at the under-12 media.
  • Aaron Davis brought more life to the gym as he finished a transition pass from Mitchell with a one-handed slam.
