COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS
"What an amazing effort we gave tonight. We battled at every turn in the match. [Carolina], Carrina and Aubrey set the tone for the match. This is a special group we have. I couldn't be happier for them!"
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Set 1- The momentum would swing back forth between Bryant and Dartmouth to open the match. Dartmouth would appear to pull away and get to set point leading 24-21. At that point, Bryant would go on an unbelievable rally, scoring four straight points to take the lead and extend the set. The Big Green would manage to tie the score twice, but it would be the Bulldogs who would prevail winning 28-26. Arianna Ugolini and Aubrey Lapour would combine for 11 kills in the first set. Carolina Camacho would tally 10 assists and a pair of aces.
  • Set 2- The second set saw Bryant start off strong by getting out to a 5-1 lead. Dartmouth however would slowly work their way back into the set and tie things up at 14 all. The score would remain tight the rest of the way, but in the end the Bulldogs would come through; breaking a 23-23 tie with a Carrina Barron ace and a London Hunt kill to win the second set 25-23. Aubrey LaPour would put up an additional 8 kills in the frame. Carrina Barron would tally 11 digs and a service ace.
  • Set 3- Bryant would start the third set off well. However a series of miscues would lead to Dartmouth taking advantage and going on a big run that would stymie the Bulldogs opportunity to sweep. The Big Green would stay alive winning the third set 25-19.
  • Set 4- The Big Green proved that they would not go quietly as they would exchange leads with the Bulldogs to start the fourth. With the score tied at 11 all, Bryant would see an opening and take it; going on a 7-2 run that would ultimately put them in the driver's seat. Bryant would finish off Dartmouth with a 25-17 fourth set win. Fabi Castro and Aubrey LaPour each had 4 kills in the final set.
