BOSTON - Bryant women's soccer junior midfielder Emily Supple and freshman defender Whitney Vaillant picked up America East weekly honors on Monday.
Supple earned Offensive Player of the Week and Vaillant collected her second Rookie of the Week award this season after helping Bryant to its second conference play victory over UAlbany.
Supple scored twice in Bryant's 2-0 win over UAlbany on Sunday. Her first goal came in the 10th minute of the game, marking the first goal of her career. Supple's second goal was the culmination of a beautiful play between her and Jordyn Collins. This is Supple's first weekly honor of her career. This is the Black and Gold's second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week award following Makayla Griffin's honor last week.
Vaillant contributed 50 minutes on defense that led to a shutout win over UAlbany. Vaillant also won Rookie of the Week during the second week of the season after scoring the game-winning goal in Bryant's game against Marist.
Supple, Vaillant, and the Bulldogs are set to take on the defending conference champions, Maine, on Sunday (Oct. 5th) in a 1:00 pm matchup.
