SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to UMass Amherst on Sunday afternoon.

"We did not start as well today as we have in our other games.  We paid for the slow start and, except for the end of each half we were unable to really build any momentum in our favor."

  • Former Bulldog turned Minutewomen Emma Pedolzky is named with an assist on Massachusetts' first of three goals. 

Scoring Summary

  • 8th minute - Bryant 0, UMass 1 - Emma Pedolzky of UMass passed the ball into the 6-yard box where senior Ashley Lamond was able to finish it off and score the first goal of the game early in the first half.

  • 12th minute - Bryant 0, UMass 2 - Chandler Pedolzky passed the ball into the 18 where Bella Recinos was able to send it right past goalkeeper Selena Negron to give the Minutewomen a 2-0 lead.

  • 58th minute - Bryant 0, UMass 3 - Lamond launched the ball into the box which was slowed down by a header from Chandler Pedolzky. Grace Pinkus was able to gather it and bury it in the net for what would be the final goal of the game.

Game Notes

  • Sophomore Shannon Mejia made her Bulldog debut in net playing for the last seven minutes.

  • Despite only playing in the last 10 minutes of the game, freshman Caitlin Forshay finished Sunday's game with the most shots (3).

  • Bryant and UMass each finished with 11 shots.
