Bryant Swim and Dive Set to Compete Against Marist College This Saturday

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Bryant swimming and diving team will travel to Marist College for a dual meet.

Bryant's swimming and diving squad will begin competition Saturday afternoon, 1:00 pm at the McCann Natatorium. Following competition at Chace Pool against UMass this will be the Black and Gold's second meet of the new year, their eleventh meet of the season, and their second to last regular season meet before the America East Championships begin down in Lexington, VA.

The Bryant University women's team currently holds a record of 6-2, while the men's team stands at 5-3.

Bulldog Notes and Highlights:

Bryant's men and women's squad recently took home the win against UMass Amherst.
Nick Austin grabbed another win in the 200-yard Breaststroke, finishing at 2:10.31 which earned him AE (America East) male Rookie of The Week.
In the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, Team A (Lofstrom, Toepfer, Andrews, and Misto) claimed first and set a new pool record with a 1:24.79.
Megan Beasley secured first place with a score of 262.35 in the one-meter dive which earned her fourth AE Female Diver of The Week honor.
Diver Christopher Buonocore was named Diver of the Week by the America East Conference after his performance, this is Buonocore's fourth dive recognition of the season as well.
Ruby Tonelli-Smith won the women's 200-yard Butterfly and broke the 200-yard butterfly pool record with a 2:04.51.
Leo Luna continued his unbeatable campaign in long-distance events at home, securing first in both the 1000 Free (9:33.01) and the 500 Free (4:43.48). Luna was also awarded AE Male Swimmer of The Week.

About the Red Foxes:

The women's team holds a record of 3-3 this season with losses to UVM, Fairfield, and Lehigh University.
The men's team stands at 5-1, with a single loss to Lehigh University.
Marist is set to close out their season with a meet-up at Binghamton University before the MAAC championships.
