SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to action this weekend, hosting Binghamton for their home opener Oct. 17–18.

Friday's diving portion will be held at Brown University beginning at 5 p.m., while swimming events will take place in Smithfield at 5 p.m Friday and 11 a.m Saturday.

The Bulldog women enter the weekend coming off a strong win over Fairfield, while the men look to capture their first victory of the season.

Bulldog Notes

• In last season's meeting, the Bryant women topped Binghamton 195–158.
• Megan Beasley swept the diving events, earning first in the 1-meter (284.10) and 3-meter (247.05).
• Jacqui Fox captured the 100 back (57.38) and 200 back (2:05.54), and contributed to the winning 200 medley relay (1:46.18) with Jocie Niemczyk, Sofia Doersch, and Marcella Figueroa.
• Record-breaker Amanda Witkus set a new program mark in the 200 fly (2:02.40) and also claimed the 100 fly (56.55).
• Clara Steen earned first in the 200 IM (2:07.45).
• Makayla Pearce swept the long-distance events, winning the 1000 free (10:18.09) and 500 free (5:05.20), while also placing second in the 200 free.
• On the men's side, Christopher Buonocore led the Bulldogs with victories in both the 1-meter (284.33) and 3-meter (300.83) dives.

Scouting the Bearcats

• Binghamton is coming off an America East Conference title and enters the weekend undefeated, with the men's team at 2–0 and the women's team at 3–0.
• In last week's meet against Niagara, senior Elizabeth Tirado swept the one- and three-meter diving events with scores of 271.95 and 255.90.
• Senior Maria Pignatelli won the 50 free (24.36) and 100 free (53.34), while freshman Julia Iwanow claimed victories in the 200 breast (2:18.96) and 200 IM (2:10.06).
• On the men's side, Dylan Norby won the three-meter dive (319.50), freshman Samuel Pikofsky-Christiansen captured the one-meter (282.83), Cullin Cole took the 50 free (21.38), and senior Liam Preston finished first in the 100 free (46.94).
