NEW HAVEN, C.T.– The Bryant men's tennis team finished up competing in the ITA Regionals this weekend at Yale University. Daniel Baquero and Miguel Angel Machado went on a remarkable run to the semifinals with some massive wins over the No. 1 seed in the region Yale, the No. 8 seed in the region Dartmouth, and Boston College.

Manveer Boparai, Andrew Kelley, Forbes Hollingsworth, Myles Peterson, and Alec Martinez also represented the Black and Gold.

COACH GENDRON'S COMMENTS
"What an amazing weekend. First off, to qualify four doubles teams for an ITA regional and two main draw singles is an accomplishment. To win both first round matches in singles and compete in second round matches is another accomplishment."

"Although we didn't fare well in our qualifying rounds, we went out and proceeded to win most of our friendly matches, which is important. It shows a team wanting to get better and working hard."

"After that, for a doubles team from a mid-major to make it to an ITA semifinal is a rare accomplishment. To beat the eight seed and the one seed along the way proves it wasn't a fluke. Lastly, to lose in the semifinal 6-3, 7-6 against the team that would ultimately win speaks volumes about where we are headed, and what we are capable of. I am more optimistic than ever that we can create something special again with Bryant men's tennis. Vamos perros."
