SWIMMING AND DIVING TO COMPETE WITH NJIT AND STONY BROOK IN NEW JERSEY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Bryant University men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to New Jersey this weekend, where the men will face NJIT and the women will compete against Stony Brook.

Bulldog Notes

Women
  • This marks the first meeting between Bryant and Stony Brook since 2011. The Seawolves lead the all-time series 2-0.
  • The Bulldogs are undefeated this season, winning their first two meets, including a dominant victory over Binghamton.
  • Clara Steen, Amanda Witkus, Ruby Tonelli and Marcella Figueroa set a new pool record in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.90.
  • Tonelli broke the pool record in the 100-yard butterfly (54.23), while Katherine Bailey added another in the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.20).
  • Megan Beasley swept the diving events, taking first in both the one-meter (264.23) and three-meter (245.70) dives.
Men
  • The Bulldogs are seeking their first victory of the season after narrowly falling to reigning America East champion Binghamton.
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of James Misto, Nick Andrews, Arthur Newton and Calix Hammett set a new pool record with a winning time of 1:23.32.
  • Tim Andrews won the 100-yard butterfly (49.41), Newton took first in the 100-yard freestyle (46.04) and Aidan Trenery captured the 100-yard breaststroke (57.01).
Scouting the Seawolves
  • Stony Brook enters the meet 0-2, with losses to Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut.
  • Francesca Baber won the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.67) in the Seawolves' most recent outing.
  • Alanna DePinto placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.16).
  • Aili Talcott won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.52).
  • Natalia Chornomidza captured the 3-meter diving event (243.23).
Scouting the Highlanders
  • NJIT is 1-1 this season, with a win at the NJIT Invite and a loss to Iona.
  • Mohamed Walid won the 100-yard butterfly (49.36).
  • Andrew Cellar took first in the 100-yard backstroke (50.24).
  • Beckham DiPierro won the 1-meter dive (192.23).
  • The Highlanders also claimed victory in the 400-yard medley relay (3:23.31).
