NEWARK, N.J. — The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team defeated Stony Brook, 201-99, in Saturday's tri-meet hosted by NJIT.
The Bulldogs were off to a hot start in New Jersey with a dominant showing. Bryant opened with an impressive performance in the 200-yard medley relay, as
Jacqui Fox, Jocie Niemczyk, Ruby Tonelli, and
Marcella Figueroa finished first in 1:44.87.

"Our women are on a roll and enjoying the benefits of working hard. Katherine Bailey had an amazing day and was a real team player who dominated in a few new events. Her versatility will be very useful to the team.

- Tonelli continued her stellar day by winning both the 200 fly (2:02.33) and 100 fly (54.68).
- Niemczyk added wins in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.40) and 200 breaststroke (2:21.41).
- Katherine Bailey led the distance group with victories in the 1000 free (10:17.98) and 200 free (1:52.20).
- Fox added another victory in the 100 yard backstroke (56.91).
- Addison Abreu came in first in the 50 yard free (24.33)
- Amanda Witkus captured the 200 IM (2:05.57).
- Makayla Pearce took first in the 500 free (5:02.81).
- Bryant closed out the meet coming in second the 400 freestyle relay, as Jill Carline, Niemczyk, Witkus, and Hannah King clocked a 3:29.84.
- Megan Beasley swept the diving events, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.
The Bulldogs are back in Smithfield on Oct 31. At 5 p.m. to take on Providence. Dive will be at Brown.
