WOMEN'S SOCCER ADVANCES TO AE SEMIFINALS FOR FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY

LOWELL, Mass. — The Bryant University women's soccer team advanced to the America East semifinals for the first time in program history after defeating UMass Lowell in penalty kicks on Sunday afternoon.

Final Score: Bryant 0, UMass Lowell 0 (Bryant advances 4–3 on PKs)
Location: Lowell, Mass.

Coach's comments on the win:

"Very happy for our team today," Coach Biggs said.
"It was a performance that required skill, toughness, resilience and unity and they proved they have all of that and more this afternoon!"

Game Notes:
After 110 scoreless minutes, the Bulldogs prevailed in a dramatic shootout. Goalkeeper Shannon Mejia came up with the biggest stop of the season, denying the River Hawks' sixth attempt to set up Bryant's chance to win. Senior Maddie Luke then buried the deciding penalty kick to send the Bulldogs to the semifinals.

Bryant outshot UMass Lowell 23–19 and held a 7–4 edge in corner kicks. The Bulldogs split goalkeeping duties, with Mejia and Selena Negron combining for five saves in the shutout in regulation. This is now the Black and Gold's tenth shutout of the season.

It marks the Bulldogs' first-ever America East Tournament victory since joining the conference.
