Bulldogs Edge Monmouth 12-11 Behind Katter's Four Goals

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – With a four-goal performance from Isabelle Katter, the Bulldogs held it down until the final whistle, securing a 12–11 win over Monmouth.

Katter sparked the Bulldogs' early dominance, netting three goals in the first quarter, with her first goal setting the momentum for Bryant. The Bulldogs edged out Monmouth by one goal, thanks to a clutch save from goalkeeper Sam Centofante in the final minute of the fourth quarter, denying the Hawks an equalizer for overtime. The victory marks the Black and Gold's second road win of the season.

The Bulldogs now stand at 2–1 on the season.

How It Happened

Quarter 1: Izzy Katter came out strong, opening the game with a hat trick to set the tone for Bryant. Jessica Tosone followed with a fast break goal, marking her first of the season and extending the Bulldogs' lead to 3-0. Katter stayed hot, notching her third goal of the afternoon on a free-position shot. Gabriella Constant joined the action, capitalizing on a Monmouth defensive gap to net her first goal, closing the first quarter with Bryant ahead 5-1.

Quarter 2: Elise Larsen kicked off the second quarter with a free position goal, tallying her third goal of the season and pushing Bryant's lead to 6-2. Gabriella Constant then found her second of the afternoon, dodging past the goalie to extend the Bulldogs' advantage to 7-2 heading into halftime.

Quarter 3: Larsen struck again early in the third, rolling from the crease and scoring with just 25 seconds left on the shot clock, putting Bryant up 8-2. Katter then secured her fourth and final goal of the game, responding to two Monmouth goals with a key score from behind the net to make it 9-4. Emily DeGeorge added to Bryant's total, finding the back of the net with just 10 seconds left on the shot clock for the Bulldogs' 10th goal. Amelia Piercy capped off the quarter with a strong transition goal, giving Bryant an 11-5 lead.

Quarter 4: Piercy connected with DeGeorge for Bryant's final goal of the game, marking DeGeorge's 12th of the season. Monmouth then mounted a fierce comeback, rattling off six unanswered goals to close the gap to 12-11 with just under a minute to play. In the final moments, Bryant goalkeeper Sam Centofante made a crucial save with less than 20 seconds left, denying Monmouth the equalizer. The Bulldogs regained possession and ran out the clock to secure the 12-11 victory.
