LEXINGTON, VA – The Bryant University swim and dive team will compete in the America East Championships this week.
After a 6-4 season on the men's side and an 8-2 season on the women's side, the Bulldogs head down to conference competition against Vermont, Binghamton, Maine, NJIT, UNH, VMI, and UMBC.

On the season…
- Bryant's men's and women's squads recently secured victories against Marist College.
- James Misto earned two first-place finishes against Marist, helping secure the victory on the men's side.
- Leo Luna dominated the 1000 free, finishing first after a neck-and-neck race with Binghamton swimmers until the final lap, winning by three seconds with a time of 9:30.62. Luna also took first in the 500 free (4:38.22) against Binghamton.
- In the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyle, Leo Luna claimed first place yet again, continuing his unbeaten streak in long-distance events this season.
- Ruby Tonelli placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.79 and also picked up a victory in the 200-yard backstroke (57.34) against Holy Cross.
- Diver Christopher Buonocore was named Diver of the Week by the America East Conference after his performance against Marist, where he placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 328.13. This marks Buonocore's fifth Diver of the Week recognition this season.
- Makayla Pearce earned another first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:39.68. Pearce has won the 1000 free in the past two meets against Marist.
- Jaqui Fox was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke, taking first with a time of 1:05.96 against Providence.
- James Misto secured the Bulldogs' only top-three finish in the 50-yard freestyle at WPI, taking first place.
- Diver Christopher Buonocore placed first in the 1m and 3m competitions, and Leo Luna and Raymond Stelmark finished first and second in both the 1000 free and 500 free events at the last meet against Fairfield.
