Vanesko pitches Bryant past Harvard on Tuesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Jackson Vanesko tossed 5.0 shutout innings to lead the Bryant baseball team to an 11-0 victory over Harvard on Tuesday afternoon at Conaty Park.
 
The Bulldogs improve to 8-10-1 overall with the victory. Bryant continues its nine-game homestand this weekend as it opens America East play against UAlbany. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
 
On Tuesday, Vanesko, Kyle Rizy and Liam Chamberlain combined on a one-hit shutout of the Crimson. It marked Bryant's first one-hitter since last season vs Brown.
 
Offensively, four Bulldogs finished with multi hits, while Evan Blake, Drew Wyers and Jacob Gaudreau all drove in two runs.

  • Bryant took advantage of a two-out error in the first to plate five runs and never looked back.
How it Happened
  • Two walks opened the game and D'Amico made it 1-0 with a line drive single to center. Blake's two-out liner to short went through the defender's glove to extend the inning and plate a run. Wyers drove in a run with a single and Jacob Gaudreau plated the final two runs of the inning with a single to right center.
  • Bryant extended its lead with six runs in the fifth. Blake and Wyers started the scoring with back-to-back RBI doubles. A bases loaded walk and a Noriega sac fly made it 9-0. Blake and Durand closed the scoring with a pair of infield RBI singles.
