SMITHFIELD, RI – Led by a top performance from
Emily DeGeorge the Bryant women's lacrosse team earned its first America East victory with a 17-6 win over Binghamton on Saturday afternoon at Beirne Stadium.
The Bulldogs controlled the game from start to finish, using a strong offensive performance and defensive stands from
Kaelynn O'Brien and
Jessica Tosone to improve to 1-1 in league play.

How It Happened
First Quarter:
Bryant established momentum as
Emily DeGeorge found the back of the net less than two minutes into play off an assist from
Amelia Piercy. The Bearcats quickly equalized with a free-position goal from Emma Blloshmi, but the Bulldogs responded with a four-goal run, including tallies from DeGeorge,
Rylee Slate, and Piercy.
Ashling Marshall added another late in the quarter to give Bryant a commanding 6-2 lead.
Second Quarter:
Bryant's defense stepped up in the second quarter, holding Binghamton scoreless while adding two more goals to the scoreboard.
Isabelle Katter and DeGeorge continued their offensive dominance, pushing the lead to 8-2 at halftime.
Third Quarter:
The Bulldogs extended their advantage early in the third with another goal from DeGeorge. Binghamton fought back with a goal from Olivia Muscolino, but Bryant continued to control possession. Katter, Slate, and
Kaelynn O'Brien contributed to the offensive onslaught, and the Bulldogs finished the quarter leading 15-5.
Fourth Quarter:
Bryant kept Binghamton at bay in the final frame, with
Gabriella Constant and Turnquist Malin-Skye capping off the scoring. The Bearcats managed just one goal in the closing minutes, and the Bulldogs cruised to a 17-6 victory.
