Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. – A two-out throwing error led to a four-run seventh inning as the Bryant baseball team earned a 5-3 victory over UAlbany in game one of Sunday's doubleheader at Varsity Field.
 
The Bulldogs improve to 21-16-1 overall and 9-5 in America East play with their 10th win in 11 games. Bryant and UAlbany wrap up their series with game three on Sunday afternoon.
 
Tied 1-1 in the seventh of a seven-inning game, Pat D'Amico hit a ground ball to deep short with two on and two outs. The shortstop's throw across the diamond was wide of first, allowing the two runners to score. The relay throw from the outfield then went out of play, allowing D'Amico to score.
 
Gavin Greger led Bryant with two hits, including a seventh-inning double. Zac Zyons also doubled, while Matt D'Amato's second home run of the year tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth.

How it Happened

• UAlbany took the lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the third.
• D'Amato quickly tied the game as he led off the fourth with a solo home run to right center.
• It remained tied until the top of the seventh. Zyons doubled and Gavin Noriega was hit by pitch to put two on with one out. After a strikeout, D'Amico rolled a 1-2 pitch to deep short. The throw was wild at first, allowing Zyons and Noriega to score. The throw home then got away and went out of play, allowing D'Amico to score. Greger then doubled down the left field line and scored on a Brandyn Durand single to left.
• UAlbany rallied in the bottom of the seventh. Three singles and a walk made it 5-2. Landon White retired the next two batters before a walk forced in a second run. White buckled down, striking out McAllister to strand the tying and winning runs on base.
