SMITHFIELD, RI – Despite a strong first-quarter performance from the Bulldogs, No. 17 Brown surged back with a dominant middle stretch to claim a 14-10 victory over the Bryant women's lacrosse team at Beirne Stadium on Tuesday night.
Led by standout efforts from Greta Criqui, Leah Caputo, and Avery Doran, the Bears outpaced Bryant in the second and third quarters to pull away in non-conference action.

How It Happened
First Quarter
Bryant opened the game on fire with a five-goal burst, including a first-quarter run from
Isabelle Katter and additional tallies from
Amelia Piercy and
Elise Larsen. The Bulldogs led 5-1 before Brown responded with a free-position goal from Leah Caputo and a late conversion from Annie Burton to end the quarter down just 5-3.
Second Quarter
Brown flipped the momentum as Greta Criqui netted two goals, one shorthanded, and Avery Doran added another. Beth Anderson's goal at 2:03 gave Brown its first lead of the game. Bryant's
Lily Auger and
Gabriella Constant managed to answer, sending the game to half tied at 7-7.
Third Quarter
Brown continued their run in the third with three straight goals, including a finish from Adele Atherton and another from Criqui. The Bears' defense allowed just one Bryant goal in the final minute of the quarter from
Riley O'Mara, keeping the score at 12-8.
Fourth Quarter
Brown extended its lead with goals from Doran and Caputo, capping their offense at 14.
Gabriella Constant and
Lily Auger each scored for Bryant, with Auger's goal coming on a man-up opportunity, but the Bulldogs couldn't close the gap, and Brown secured the 14-10 victory.
