BRYANT WINS BACK-TO-BACK GAMES, OUTPLAYING LAFAYETTE 1-0

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Marc Pitarch Bayot delivered the pass that Fernando Delgado needed to score, lifting the Bryant University men's soccer team to their second win of the season against Lafayette College, 1-0, on Saturday night at Beirne Stadium.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-0-1 on the season. The Bulldogs end the month of August with back-to-back wins and head into September on the road for the first time.

The Bulldogs capitalized early into the game as Marc Pitarch Bayot corralled in a Mamadi Jiana header, ran out near the boundary line and delivered a dish to Fernando Delgado who drilled it into the net.

Key Moment:
  • The Bulldogs scored 18 minutes into the game and kept their foot on the gas more than the score indicates.
  • Lafayette was awarded an indirect free kick less than 10 yards from the goal in crunch time. Carvahlo came up big as he raced out and stopped the ball with his head to preserve the clean sheet.
