COACH CILLI'S COMMENTS
"To be invited to this national tournament is truly honoring and exciting, but humbling. She drew a much more experienced player (Kristina Paskauskas, University of Alabama) who advanced two more rounds as of yesterday. She got matched up with some pretty powerful stuff. She then went 3 hours and 3 sets against Clemson (Romana Cisovska), having double set point in the first, and taking the second set 7-5. Clemson had another gear and she used it to pull out ahead as the points got more physical and the margins got tighter, taking the third set 3-6. These girls are talented and have the ability to execute at the right times. It was great to see her have a strong performance against Clemson; it validated the type of player she is. Ultimately, if you want to play with the big dogs, you've got to close out on the big points."
YAHLI NOY'S COMMENTS
"I felt I competed really well in my second match against Clemson. It was a tough battle, just a point or two made the difference. I'm grateful for the chance to face such skilled and experienced players from top schools. It motivates me to keep working hard and be back next year better and stronger."
Noy and the Bulldogs are set to compete September 26th – September 28th at the OVC Masters event in Evansville, IN.
