RADFORD, Va. –
Dylan Scudder tossed 5.0 scoreless,
Jacob Gaudreau hit his first-career home run and the Bryant baseball team exploded for nine runs in the seventh to earn a 15-2 run-rule victory over Radford on Saturday afternoon at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-5 on the year. Bryant and Radford will play the rubber match of the series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Bryant enjoyed its best offensive performance of the season as seven of the nine batters in the lineup finished with multiple hits and all nine starters scored a run.
Scudder posted the best outing of his Bryant career, limiting Radford to just three hits over 5.0 scoreless innings.

- Bryant opened the scoring in the second inning on Saturday. Story opened the inning with a double and came around to score as Irizarry was hit by a pitch with two outs and the bases loaded.
- Hackett helped out defensively in the second, spinning an inning-ending 6-3 double play.
- Bryant pushed its lead to 4-0 with three runs in the top of the third. Garcia opened the inning with a double into the left field corner and a pair of hit batters loaded the bases with no outs. Hackett then walked to bring home the first run and a wild pitch plated the second. Dylan Prince closed the scoring with a sac fly to left.
- The Bulldogs extended its lead with single runs in the fifth and sixth. In the fifth, Gaudreau drove a 2-2 pitch over the wall in right center for his first-career home run.
- In the sixth, Garcia doubled to open the inning and scored as Greger slashed a single through the left side.
- Radford plated its only two runs with a two-out, two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth.
- Bryant put the game with nine runs in the top of the seventh. Prince opened the inning with a double, his first-career hit, and scored on a Wensley single. Garica then drove an 0-2 pitch over the right field wall for a two-run home run and a 9-2 lead.
- Greger would double, steal third and score on the overthrow before Story started a two-out rally with a single to right. Hackett scored him with a double, Gaudreau drove in a run with a single up the middle and Irizarry plated two with a single through the box. Wensley closed the scoring with an RBI triple into the left field corner.
