Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 27th round (817th overall) in the MLB Amateur Draft ... ABCA First Team All-Region ... All-New England First Team ... All-ECAC Second Team ... All-NEC First Team ... Appeared in and started all 56 games ... Made 40 starts behind the plate, 10 at DH, three at first and three in left field ... Hit .340 (70-206) with 13 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 43 RBI and 59 runs scored ... Led the team in runs scored and home runs ... Also walked a team-high 42 times and posted a team-high .468 OBP ... Became first catcher in program history to score 50+ runs in a season ... First player in DI program history to post back-to-back seasons with 40+ walks ... Became just second player in DI program history with 100+ walks in a career ... Hit .392 (31-79) with seven doubles, two home runs, 22 RBI and 16 runs scored ... Walked 11 times and posted a .489 OBP ... Went 5-for-9 as a pinch-hitter ... Hit a bases-clearing double to break a 4-4 in the 17th inning against Monmouth on the opening weekend ... Hit his first-career home run, a pinch-hit, opposite field dinger, against Maryland on Mar. 13 ... Went 3-for-3 with two RBI at Central Connecticut on Mar. 19 ... High … Merrimack's starting catcher each of his last three seasons, Gasper earned all-state honors each year … Earned first-team honors as a senior and junior … Named the Hitter of the Year in the Granite State Baseball Fall Showcase league in 2012 after hitting .462 with a 1.314 OPS … Also a two-year member of the varsity basketball team, helping team win Class L state title … Member of the National Honor Society and New Hampshire Scholars.
