Biography

As a senior
Appeared in and started all 31 games for the Bulldogs in 2015-16 as a senior captain, the only member of the team to do so ... Madness Men's Basketball Player of the Week ... Averaged 7.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest in 36.58 minutes per game, which were the second-most minutes logged in the NEC ... Was a true floor general and led the league in assists per game (5.3), which including a career-high 14 helpers against Prairie View A&M on Nov. 20, the sixth-most assists in a game in Bryant's program history ... Distributed five or more assists in 16 games and eight or more assists on seven occassions ... Finished Bulldog career with the third-most assists all time (436) and the fifth-most games played in a Black and Gold uniform (125) ... Scored a career high of 26 points at Dartmouth on Dec. 31 on a personal-best 10 made field goals ... Tallied his second-career double-double against Mount St. Mary's on Jan. 9 with 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with eight assists, making the guard the first and only player in Bryant's DI history to post at least 20 points, 10 boards and five assists in a game. 

As a junior
Started all 31 games as the Bulldogs' point guard in 2014-15, leading the side with 148 dimes while ranking third in the NEC and 54th in the nation in assists per game (4.77) ... Also ranked third on the league circuit in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.78) and minutes played (36.68) ... Added 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 40.1 percent (83-207) from the field and 32.7 percent (17-52) from 3-point range ... Recorded his first-career double-double at Pitt Feb. 2, scoring 10 points while dishing out 10 assists in a near upset, also registering a career-best eight boards ... Dished out a career-best 12 helpers vs. CCSU Feb. 26 ... Added 29 steals. 

As a sophomore
Appeared in all 32 games, earning 16 starts at point guard … Earned the starting nod in the final 14 games of the season … Averaged 20.4 minutes and 3.9 points per game … Finished second on the team in assists with 83 and fifth in steals with 24 … Scored a career-high 15 points while going 6-for-6 from the field at LIU Brooklyn on March 1 … The win secured the Bulldogs the No. 3 seed and home court advantage heading into the NEC Tournament … Dished out a career-best eight assists at FDU Jan. 18 to compliment 10 points … Among the team’s top defensive players on the floor.

As a freshman
Appeared in all 31 contests, earning a pair of starts, while quickly solidifying himself as a consistent option off the Bulldogs bench as freshman … Started back-to-back games in mid-December, vs. Binghamton on Dec. 8 where he put up a career-best six points and three assists in 23 minutes, and Dec. 10 at Navy … Knocked down the game-winning layup with just seconds left in an overtime thriller vs. Mount St. Mary’s on Jan. 17 … Dished out a season-high four dimes, twice, on Jan. 19 vs. Wagner and on March 2 vs. Saint Francis U. … Averaged 12.5 minutes per outing.

Before Bryant
A 2011 graduate of Old Tappan High School in New Jersey, McLaughlin prepped at Choate Rosemary Hall during the 2011-12 school year … At Choate, McLaughlin earned second team All-New England honors averaging 11.0 ppg and 8.0 assists per game … Led Choate to its second-straight Founders League title and berth in the NEPSCA finals … While at Old Tappan, led team to three NBIAL Championships … Two time All-State selection … All-time leading scorer in Old Tappan history.
