NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Junior Laura
Asbell (Tacoma, Wash.) scored her fourth goal of the season early
in the first half to propel Merrimack College to a 1-0 win over
Bryant University in Northeast-10 women's soccer action
Friday afternoon.
Senior Lindsay Sheffield picked up her sixth assist of the
season on Asbell's goal as the Warriors improved to 12-4-1
(8-4-1 Northeast-10) with the win. Bryant, meanwhile, falls to

Sheffield dribbled down the right side of the field and centered
the ball to Asbell, who drilled a shot past Bryant goalkeeper
Jessica Neales at 11:18 of the opening stanza. The Warrior defense
took over from there, holding the Bulldogs to seven shots on net.
Sophomore Shannon Rowan made three saves en route to her 12th
win of the season. Neales made five saves for Bryant.
