WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS SOUTHERN N.H. 18-6
Bulldogs Host Saint Michael's For Senior Day Sunday
Manchester, N.H. -- Sophomores Amanda Gallant (Andover,
MA) and Shaun Leddy (Sea Grift, NJ) both
totaled four goals and one assist and junior Marisa
Lawrence (Falmouth, MA) added two goals and four assists
to lead Bryant University to an 18-6 victory over Southern New
Hampshire University here today in Northeast-10 Conference women's
lacrosse action. Bryant has won seven of its last nine games
and improved to 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the league. SNHU
dropped to 6-7 overall and 4-5 in the NE-10.
Senior Melissa Talamini
(Mendon,
MA) helped the Bryant cause with
three goals and one assists, while freshman Caitlin Hansen
(Spring Lake,
NJ) added two goals.
Freshman Lucretia Joy
(Portland,
ME) and junior Lisa
McEachern (Scituate,
MA) paced the Penmen with two
goals and one assists each.
The teams traded goals for the first 24
minutes of the game and the Penmen tied the game at 4-4 after Joy
netted a free position goal with 6:08 left before
intermission. The Bulldogs closed out the half with six
unanswered goals in the final 5:51 of the half and took a 10-4
lead.
Gallant and Talamini scored goals in the first
five minutes of the second half to give the Bulldogs a 12-4 lead,
and the visitors later took a 15-5 lead following an unassisted
goal by Hansen with 10:36 to play.
Junior Samantha Libby (Penacook,
NH) went the distance in net for the Bulldogs and stopped
eight shots. FreshmanJessica Pyne
(Sparkill,
NY) turned back 12 shots for the
Penmen.
Bryant hosts Saint Michael's College in its
regular-season finale tomorrow (4/24) at 1 p.m.
