Bryant University Field Hockey Drops Opener
0-3 to Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, PA - The Bryant University field
hockey team dropped their season opener on Saturday with a 0-3
defeat at the hands of the defending three-time NCAA champions
Bloomsburg University. Bryant will face Mansfield University on
Sunday.
The Bulldogs had a tough go of it on Saturday only attempting four
shots. Bloomsburg out shot the Bulldogs 24-4 and had a 9-0
advantage in corners. The Huskies scored their first goal 19
minutes into the game and added another less than 20 seconds
later. That was all they would need as another goal was added at
42:40.
Sophomore Kasey Kortz (Louisville, KY) had 22
saves stopping all but two of the shots taken by the Huskies.
The Bulldogs will look to register their first win of the season
on Sunday when they will visit Mansfield University.
